CONTACT LIST OF OSA MEMBERS If you want to be included on the following list please email me with your name, email address, the year that you left the Upper Sixth (or would have left the Upper Sixth if you left earlier) and a mini-biography (just two or three lines saying when you left BSN, what you did then and what you are doing now). Only include snailmail adddresses and telephone numbers if you are really sure you want them published to the whole wide world (not only BSNers read this page). Hopefully, this list will enable more members to easily keep in contact - maybe you will even renew some lost contacts.

Susu Sabeti (now Bishop)
[Class of 1972]
Hello friends of 71/72. I used to be known under the name of Susu Sabeti from Iran although my name is Sohi Sabeti (now Bishop). I'm just so amazed to even find a few names that I remember from all those years back. Konrad (I get the feeling everyone remembers him! Goodlooking and the olympics I guess helped!) but also Pip, Don O'sullivan , Jacqui Hawkins (please if anyone is in contact with her let me know),Keith (Weston?)I still have a letter from him from Amman Jordan!, Linda Randolph. I have dug up a couple of pictures and when I look at them, it seems like yesterday.I would love to put names to these faces. I wonder if anyone remembers me? From Holland I went to Paris , finished my studies, worked and married 26 years ago my American. We travelled (Africa, Europe, U.S.) working for an oil service company .We are currently living in the south of France. We have a 22 year old daughter and a 21 year old son both ending their universities in the U.S. Anyway this is fun if anyone wants to contact me of that generation please do. I would love to hear from you. I really would.

After visiting the BSN reunion last October I have been in contact with a few people and just wanted to thank all that organised the event. As for my life well since moving back from Holland I have been to Uni studying Mech Eng and lived in Belfast for a year out. I then moved to Spain, where I have been for the last two years, successfully running my own investment property business. But as all good things come to an end I am now planning got move back to London and set up something new there, I am going to try not to join the rat race, merely enjoy socialising with millions of others. I would love to hear from anyone that remembers me and hope all is well with other people on their walks of life.

Well, it's about time I venured onto this site and let people know what I've been up to for the last 15 years. I left the BSN after my O levels to study A levels at Cranleigh. A business degree at Salford was followed by a few years working in the Manchester area as a computer programmer. After that I emmigrated to New York, and worked for various companies, earning my Green Card 5 years later. I met a lovely girl from Puerto Rico, and am now happily married. We are currently looking to buy a house and start a family. I would love to hear from anyone.

I graduated from upper sixth in 1989 and went on to study Hotel Management & IT in London. Had contact there with ex BSN-ers Saskia Markland, Fred Hens, David Ross, Tina Gaidan, Claire Froggatt, Guy Hughes, Greg Dennett, Chessie Hassell, Alex Thompson, Joris Kroner, Sacha Stel, Wam Strij de Recht. London student life is great fun! Returned to Holland after graduating with a BSc Hotel Management degree and a Japanese business linguistic degree and started my career at one of the Leading Hotels Chain, Okura Amsterdam. Met my wife Christel in 1995 through work, a Tjech/German stewardess, with whom I went back to Tokyo for the first time since 14 years. We got married in March 2000 in Amsterdam, in the Grand, (ex BSN-ers Greg, Sam, Wam & Jopie were also there!) In 2000 we also became proud parents of a healthy baby boy, Noah. (http://www.noahvansanten.com). I finished my last project at the Okura, the Euro 2000 Soccer Championships and moved on to Golden Tulip Worldwide's head office as Revenue Manager, e-distribution. Met up with Rendra Rusdi last summer, and with Sacha Stel who now lives in California. Currently living in Amsterdam, but getting around for work quite often, so would love to meet up with old classmates! (Fred where are you? lost track of you in Hong Kong). Updated September 2005: We bought a house in Amstelveen, NL in 2003. Our son Noah is growing up fast, and started school. I had a mini reunion with ex-BSN'ers Sacha Stel, Wam van Strij, Greg Dennett, Joris Kroner in The Hague, December 2004. Christel and I are expecting our second baby in November 2005.

I've finally got round to a biography! Well, after leaving the BSN, I studied in Bristol for a few years and emerged with a BSc in Chemical Physics. Followed this up with a year at Johns Hopkins in the states and then returned to do a masters - this was followed by some bits and pieces here and there and my academic studies finished with a (practically submitted) PhD from Surrey Uni. Since then I've spent a couple of years working in Birmingham and I recently wound up working back in Holland for the European Patent Office as an examiner. In between times I found time to visit most corners of the world and climb stuff.

Living just off Clapham Common which I'm enjoying. My twin brother Ben (left after J2 in 84) is also doing well, currently working for a Marketing/Promotions co. Elder sister Jill (would have been class of 91 but left BSN in 94) is doing well and working at the Bank of Scotland. Hello to all ex-BSN-ers! This website is a true blast from the past and a pleasure to visit. As I've only plugged myself in recently I will probably need several tries to get this sent off right, but here goes anyway. To fill in about twenty years worth of gaps a quick run down of what kept me busy: After A levels I first misspent two years at Nijenrode Business school which I enjoyed too much with too little result. After two years with the Amro Bank I went back to Uni to get a degree in Mech Engineering which seemed to suit me better and then spent two years making up for lost financial ground as an oil engineer in the Borneo jungle. When the oil business crashed, I went with it and returned to Holland, where I sold oil for Mobil for a few years. In '88 I married Derkje and also restarted a winch building business which had gone broke and needed lots of TLC. I really enjoyed running a small company for about 7 years especially the challenge of both engineering and marketing at the same time. The past three years I have been managing director of an engineering company making concrete plants and steel constructions, this time in Friesland, where the quality of life suits the whole family (two boys, now 9 and 4 years old). Any spare time I have I will spend playing hockey (the old fart can still move) and sailing my Finn or working on a farmhouse that were are rebuilding. I saw Vincent Jacobs contribution and it jumpstarted some memories, none of them fit to print of course. I remember his guitar playing was even worse than mine at the time, no wonder we couldn't get any girls. It would be fun to hear from some of the old crowd, I really wonder what happened to some of them. Any news is welcome at schut@leenstra.nl. Does anyone know what happened to John van Hasselt or Gustavo Lopez? I know Gustavo went back to Guatamala, and got some strange letters from him at the time, but he then mysteriously disappeared. Bye for now.

I left the BSN in 1992 to do my A-levels at Charterhouse, UK. Continued my love of hockey here and captained the school team gaining school colours, and also represented the school in swimming, squash, and cricket. I then went on to Reading University to study Philosophy. Here I was 1st XI captain of the ladies hockey and chairman. I also played for Reading Hockey club. As the taste for cricket was now in my limbs I set-up a ladies cricket team at university. Graduating with a BA Hons I went on to do a postgrad in International Public Relations. After various PR jobs I am now working and living in London, specialising in legal, corporate, and business to business PR. Still playing hockey though for West Hampstead Hockey Club. In the last few years I have been round the world and back, but will always pop back to Holland as my parents are still living in the same old house - which probably will be remembered by those who cycled there from Voorshoten for charity!!!!! I would love to get back in touch with old chums from my year and the year above, especially some of the girlies from my year as I have a promise to fulfil ( the sooner the better as I am getting married in under a year.)

Hello! I'm currently residing in Reading where I work for the BBC Berkshire website. I've developed the music side of things (gigs, unsigned bands, Reading Festival etc) to such an extent that I'm now presenting a 'new music' radio show with a colleague of mine on BBC Radio Berkshire. Anyone who knew me at school will find that rather ironic considering I pretty much only listened to Janis Joplin then. Still into purple and now that I've turned 30 I'm also in line for a purple rinse - garrgh. I'm still in touch with Anne Nikitin, Lorna Dobbs, Janice Galvin, Mercedes Nagore and Rachel Shaughnessy, but would love to get in touch with anyone else who I was friendly with at school.

I was in the class of 94 for those who unfortunately remember. Lots has happened since then. I studied multi-media in Yorkshire striving to become an Actor...I realised that I needed money...and have been working in depressing admin jobs for too long, but I am in a band called theSEXTONES with my wee brother Andy (96) playing in London all the time...we have record interest and are crossing our fingers that something may happen. I'm still intouch with Mark Ellmann, we lived together with my brother for a year in London...I know what was I thinking...i'm insane. I got engaged in September to an Aussie, and we'll be getting married in August 2004...scary...and for those who wonder...no my haircut doesn't look like a ginger mushroom anymore. Anyone who remebers me please email, it would be great to catch up with you...even if you didn't like me before.

I graduated from Warwick with a degree in English Literature in 1998 and after spending a year teaching English as a Foreign Language in Rome, I realised that I was missing Holland (strange but true) so returned to be one of the very few BSN-ers of my year to end up here. I also decided that I wanted a break from teaching so I found a "temporary" job working for Shell in Noordwijkerhout. One year later, I am still here and absolutely love it. My job is undefinable; it is mainly IT with a bit of marketing and customer service thrown in but seems to change every week. I have great colleagues; a lot of us are very unmarried twenty-somethings so the social life is great ! Anyone who knew me at school would be surprised to hear that I am working in IT for a massive oil company but it's definitely more fun and creative than it sounds. I am living in the centre of The Hague now, walking distance from all our old haunts so if anyone is in the area, please do get in touch as I would love to find out what everyone is up to. I am still in touch with Janice, Mercedes, Linda and Amanda; I think we all wear slightly less extreme clothes these days though. My brother (Michael)is living in England at the moment, also working in IT and has been involved with another ex-BSN-er for the last two years or so. If you want to know who, email me ! After leaving the BSN I joined the merchant navy where I spent 3 years as a radio officer before going on to do a degree in electrical engineering. I started work in London and on a trip back to Holland to see my parents, met my future wife Margaret, a Scot who was working in Den Haag with Linda Orlando (Class of 1980). Margaret moved to London and we were married in the Seychelles in 1986. In 1990 the company I was working for was acquired by the Canadian multinational Nortel Networks and I spent the next 12 years with them working all over the world. We have 2 sons Philip (born 1992) and Andrew (born 1995). In 1996, when Andrew was only a few weeks old, we moved to Tokyo where we spent 3 years enjoying a completely different culture and lifestyle. After Japan we still had the travel bug and moved to Singapore where we spent another 3 years before the whole telecoms and dot.com bubble burst and we found ourself back in the UK. We now live in Buckinghamshire in a very English village where the boys have swapped sushi for cricket and I have replaced globe trotting for dog walking. I still keep in contact with my "Oegstgeest" contemparies, Anthony Clarke, Harald Pedersen, Ian Appleyard, Clive Wotton and Graham Wilson as well as Carol Hurd. After a degree in Business Studies ('92) it was time to see somewhere warmer, so together with a mate we "did" the world. Whilst visiting Australia the seeds were sewn, so to speak, and the decision made that this was the place I'd one day perhaps act like a grown up. The weather, women, hospitality and price of motorcycles were not insignificant factors in the decision. I also met Jennifer then, and we headed back to the UK together to work and reinforce just why it was I wanted to live in Oz in the first place. Then it was back down under again ('95) where I've been ever since. Now live in Sydney with Jennifer and our little puppies, Sky & Jasmine. I work as a Marketing Manager in the Insurance industry. If anyone's down this way, give me a yell and I'll throw a few in the esky and on the barbie for y'as.

It seems amazing that so many years have passed since graduation. I can still remember the move to Voorschoten and how imposing the new facility seemed at the time. On a personal note, after graduation I went on to get my "doctoraal" in medicine from Leiden (thanks in part to not falling asleep during all of Mr. Birch's dutch classses). In 1989, I moved to California and was seduced by the sunshine. I completed med school at Stanford and then did residency in emergency medicine in Southern California (lifestyle is great and work is never dull). I'm still in SoCal, married to a "good ole boy" from Kansas with an adorable 2-year old son to keep life in perspective. The only person I'm still in touch with is Lorraine (who clued me in to the website but hasn't posted her own bio!). Hello everyone. I left BSN in 1996 after the upper sixth and went to Southampton university to do a 4 year degree in chemistry. After finishing that in 2000 I went travelling for just under 7 months to South America, New Zealand and Australia. It was brilliant. After getting back I still didn't really know what I wanted to do, so I ended up going back to University (best choice!) in Norwich to do an environmental Masters degree, and spent the first couple of weeks living with the Astleys which was really nice. I finished that course in August and now I am really going to get a job! It'd be great to hear from you all.

After leaving BSN in 1993 I went to Southampton to study politics and English. Two weeks before my finals I decided that this wasn't for me and dropped out (took me a while to decide that!!). I now work for an Assurance company at its European headquarters in Southampton and manage the ecommerce department. Deliberated emigrating to Oz but decided to put that off for a few years. Would love to hear from Linda, Kate M, Jonathan, Caroline or anyone who remembers me.

[Class of 1980]
I left BSN in 1980, and went on to Thames Poly (in Woolwich) to take an HND in Business Studies. While there I met Simon and we were married in 1984 (Mel Wright was one of my bridesmaids) - unfortunately it was not destined to last and we went our separate ways. After leaving poly I got a job at IBM, and stayed with them for 20 years - in various roles within Administration - the last 5 as a 1st line manager. At IBM I met Nick Shemmans (on an outward bound course in the Lake District, while shivering over night in a very damp cave with 15 other hardy souls). In 1994 we got married in Canada at Niagara Falls (which makes quite a nice backdrop to the photos!) We have 2 children, Charlotte (1995) and Jake (2001), whom I love to pieces. I left IBM in 2003 and am now an Ofsted registered childminder. Business is booming, and I have had to 'up-size' from my 4x4 7 seater Mitsubishi Delica, to an ex-Post Office bright red mini bus! Weekdays there are usually 7 or 8 children round the table for tea (currently ranging from 10 months to 11 years old). Not a quiet experience, but bags of fun! I have so many happy memories of my years at BSN, academically and personally - electric guitar solos still make me think of my first true love Graham Wilson (Gag I hope you are still playing), and on the odd occasion I pop into Harrods I do keep half an eye open for Keith. I did manage to track down some of my old friends for my 30th Birthday party. (Clive W having just read your Bio, if you are still with Ricardo, your CEO is my brother-in-law!) We live in Haslemere in Surrey (just down a bit from Guildford). So if any of my old friends are passing by this way, I would love to see or hear from you. Since I last updated my profile 2 years ago things have certainly changed. I'm still living in Bournemouth with my wife Paula, but I'm now the proud father of our baby daughter, Allanah, who is now 14 months old. I work as the Sales / Bid Manager for a southern Design & Build Construction firm and can often be seen visiting various sites throughout London, Hampshire and Berkshire - particularly in Schools. I've recently met up with Andy Judd (class of 1986 - it had been about 8 years since we last saw each other) and had a great day/night out in London where lots of Heineken and nostalgia was consumed. We also met up with Dave Simms (class of 1988). It was really great to meet up after all of these years and to find out how little some things change. Anyway, we are now determined to stay in touch more regularly. Incidently, during our night out I also had a long distance telephone conversation with Andy's sister Michelle (class of 1988) who I havn't seen in years but I understand she now works at the BSN. So, if anyone who knows me fancies a chat or just to catch up after all these years, please drop me a line.

Hi, I left BSN in 1985. Went to Westminster College and then joined safeway on their retail managers training programme. I somehow ended up working in Walsall ( not to be recommended ) , getting married , divorced , miserable , skint , then waking up one morning , and deciding to completely change my life . I did what any miserable , skint , divorced adult male would do and came home to my parents in Essex. I decided to retrain and eventually got a job with the mental health trust on an acute psychiatric assessment ward in Clacton of all places. After a year it dawned on me that the national health service paid far less than everybody else, so I sold out , went private and I now work for BUPA. I live in Clacton-on-sea ( Mecca for the dysfunctional and mentally unstable ! ) with my wife Karen and our 5 month old son Cameron . I recently tried to re-capture former rugby playing glory but after two seasons my attempt failed spectacularly with three serious injuries in a row and a wife who threatened to leave me if I didnt act my age. I have not seen any BSN people for years , so if anyone remembers me , drop me an e-mail. Update June 2004. Still living in essex with wife karen and son cameron . Left the health service after discovering golf ! I am now semi-retired , working as a brasserie manager at a golf and country club when the weather is bad , and playing golf when the weather good . if anyone can cure my snap-hook please drop me a line.

Hi everyone, I left BSN in fourth year (yr 10) to move back to Chester (Eng). I still live there but now go to university in the excellent city of Sheffield (home of Gatecrasher!) I'm studying Mechanical engineering (yes really, a girl studying mech. eng.!) with German too. This means i spend the third year of my course studying at a German university before returning for one more year at uni before i get my masters. Ordinarily a 4 year course would be pleanty for most students, but not me! I managed to get sponsorship with 'Ford' and will be taking a year out from uni between 3rd and 4th year to work for Ford down in Essex. This means i'll graduate when i'm the ripe old age of 23! I've just finished my first placement with Ford - 13 weeks work over the summer holidays. The days were long and my holiday was short, but i've now started 2nd year with a lot more experience and a lot more money!! Would love to hear from and possibly meet up with (at the reunion maybe) anyone that remembers me. I recently found out that Hayley-Beth Peters hasn't changed a bit in 5 years and would love to see what's happened to the rest of you! Janine Sykes

John Symes
[Class of 1990]
I left BSN in 1990 and progressed through an HND (Higher National Diploma) in Business Studies, before reading Management Studies and French at the University of Bradford, UK. The course spanned a period of four years, although a year and a half were spent in Holland (Tilburg University) and France (Grande Ecole de Nancy). All good fun, especially considering the large numbers of international students whilst abroad, a French/Canadian girlfriend to help the old lingo skills, apart from anything else, and the ability to speak English in the evenings after a long day of French in all its guises! After graduation from Bradford in 1996 I initially thought about heading into the wide world of Marketing, as this had been my specialisation at university. After several months of zero success, I had an invitation to the I.T world from a rogue letter of application - and took it. I hence spent three years working in London for a Dutch software house by the name of Origin. I then returned to Holland for a stint with another software house called CSC (Computer Science Corporation). In both cases my time was spent working within the Baan software application as a Distribution / Logistics consultant. I had succumbed, like many others, to the world of I.T! Recently I decided to head for the banking world and the last nine months have seen me take up a position with ABN AMRO bank in Amsterdam as a B2B payment mapping specialist. The work is totally different to anything I've done before but very interesting and more than enough to keep me off the streets. Probably just as well, especially here in Amsterdam!! Mapping basically involves the use of specialist software to translate customer based payment files to in-house files and vice versa. Probably sounds boring, but it's catching!! Amsterdam is a fun place to be. Everything within easy reach! My hobbies include squash, fitness and eating out. I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers me!! Bumped into someone in the bank the other day who did! It's a small world!

I am back in The Netherlands at the Institute of Aerospace Survey studying exploration geophysica. Looking to rekindling old friendships with: Chris Lomas, Richard Morris, Bobby Forrester, Edwina Durbridge and Lorraine Hughes. Mohammed Chimade (1984) passed away a few years ago which came as a shock to us all. Kofo Johnson (1987) has opened an art and design studio which seems to be showing a lot of promise. My brother, Big Afi (he's a giant now) is married, lives in the UK. He is presently pursuing a promising career in the fashion industry. [Class of 1987]
Hello ex-BSNers!! I am not sure that I have ever written anything for the BSN Old Students' Association but now that there is a web site I guess I no longer have an excuse not to, only a bit of catching up to do. After leaving the BSN in 1987 I went to Manchester University where I got a degree in Biochemistry. After that I went to Oxford to continue my studies and after three years managed to end up with a PhD in biochemistry. While in Oxford I met Jacky, who was also studying for a PhD, and we have now been married for almost four years. After that, I got a position at Harvard Medical School so we moved to Boston U.S.A. for almost three years. Last August we moved back to the U.K. and I am now in the process of setting up my own research lab at Manchester University. The kind of research my lab does relates to understanding how normal cells become cancer cells. If anybody is interested you can check out my web site at www.biomed.man.ac.uk/staylor for more info. >From time to time I bump into a few of the other people from my year, mainly at weddings, including Lisa Derbyshire, Alison Dale, Marco Ciarrocca and Charles House. Colin Harb keeps me posted with jokes and crazy stories as he travels the world. I haven't seen Vivek Chaturvedi since my wedding, if you read this Viv "Howz it Hanggin' Dude. Istanbul, Istanbul, Istanbuuuuul!!" Still playing football, although my soon to be 30 year old legs take longer to recover these days. As all ageing players seem to do, I have moved back in to the defence these days with occasional sojourns up the field followed by shouts of "Taylor!! Get your arse back here" from my stranded team-mates. All in all, having left the BSN I have managed to keep out of jail, off the streets and in work, so I cant be doing too badly. Would love to hear from anybody who remembers me. Until then, adios amigos! [Update] Stephen Taylor (Class of 1987) - Update. I woke this morning after a bizarre dream which involved some of my old BSN school friends. So I decided to check out the OSA web site. I was saddened to learn about the deaths of Nick Hopper and Gwyn Heal, both of whom I remember well. Jacky and I are still in Manchester. I am still at the University doing the academic thing (i.e. research, writing grants, writing papers, supervising and teaching students etc. See www.bub1.com). Jacky has moved away from the "bench" and is now an administrator for a network of EU scientists/clinicians working on skeletal diseases (see www.esdn.org). After torturing the Scots for many years Chris, my brother, (Christopher Taylor, Class of 91) is currently downunder torturing the Aussies. He had the great fortune of being there when Jonny dropped for England glory and am sure he did us proud with some "stick that in yer pipe and smoke it" gloating. Because I am so bad at keeping in touch with people I have no news of other ex-BSNers although Andy Travis and I exchanged emails a year or so ago. As compensation I will try very hard to make the next reunion as I have not been for many years. Till then, take care.

Hello everyone! After leaving the BSN in 1999 (after A-levels), I went to the University of Exeter to do a Chemistry degree. I liked Devon very much, and so after this degree I decided to stay on at the University, this time in the Engineering department. I am researching new dental filling materials and so far it has been very interesting! It would be lovely to hear from anyone who knew me. I hope you are all fine and enjoying whatever you are doing now!

The Tongs are still teaching at the BSN (or at least are trying to!) I am still based at the Junior School, (that's the new one in Mariahoeve) and a Year 6 class teacher as well as being The Humanities co-ordinator for the Junior school. I am just about getting the hang of this email stuff so bear with me if you get in touch and you don't get an immediate reply. Oh yes.....the penguin colony is thriving!! For update also see Keith Tong's entry.

The Tongs are still teaching at the BSN (or at least are trying to!) I have abandoned all those EVS lessons and have now become an Information Technology teacher - what a career change - as well as being Head of Years 7 or 8 (alternate years), or Form 1 and 2 as they used to be called. Now considered as one of the "ancients", I have probably attended more re-unions than I care to remember and a fair few weddings as well!! Clive is doing great work on here and hardly a week goes past without a "blast for the past" email arriving on my pc. (still have time to read a few more however!!). Seems that some of my little angels from a few years back have changed their spots!!! (I know thats a mixed metaphor) before you English junkies blast me. Hey come on guys after living in Holland for over 30 years I can still speaka da Englishe.

Wow, what a surprise, I've seen some names here I've not heard in a long time. I left BSN in 1985 to return to Canada with my family and would have graduated from BSN in 1988. After graduating from the Canadian school system in 1988, I served 7 years with the Canadian Armed Forces as an Aircraft technician. I left the military in 1996 and returned to school studying Information Systems at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, earning a Technical graduate Diploma in Information Technology, along with Microsoft's MCSE designation. I now work as a Network Administrator for a Logistics and Distribution company in Calgary, Alberta which handles the warehousing and distribution services for Nortel Networks. In 1999, I was married to a wonderful Italian girl, Isabel Ammirati, and on October 12th 2001, our son Michael was born. These last 5 years have been the happiest of my life. You may remember me by this quote: "In Canada we have ........."

Hi everyone, Well, after leaving the BSN (after 9IB)I went to a Dutch school, got HAVO in '99. Then I moved on to study graphic design and 3 years later (2002) I graduated and have been accepted into the Art Academy in Groningen (But I am still waiting for answers from the Royal Art Academy and the Danish Design School in Copenhagen). I love designing but on the side I do photography and get money for it as well! I am very happy, enjoying life and don't take it too seriously (but I am still not tall)!! If you remember me (or don't)it would be great if you dropped me a line or two! Take care you all, Caroline Trautner

Hey there! You might not remember me, I left halfway through the 12th year, and I used to be called Trotter back then. I was around between 1998 and 2004. You might remember I used to make dumb videos, and show them in class. I'm currently studying Film Production at the University College of the Creative Arts (in Farnham), and specialising in Film Editing/Post Production - in my second year. So far my claim to fame has been working with documentary filmmaker Paul Watson (Malcolm and Barbara: Love's Farewell 2007 - the one where he got in trouble for `faking' a death). in the editing room. (he was a guest lecturer, and advised us on our shorts) My other claim to fame is that Paul Watson hated the documentary film I worked on, because it was a polemic :D. My goal at the moment is to get into the National Film School, which hopefully I'll be able to do, pending grades. Eventually I'll be editing feature films, but I'll keep you posted on that. If you remember who I am, I'd like to hear from ya, I kinda lost in touch with you guys when I moved. Check out my myspace page for my showreel (still in progress).

After five years in rural Lincolnshire, now living in Chelmsford, where I work at the Cathedral. I've a very ancient job title - Precentor (it means "first cantor") - and my job description says I am the "main singing priest" at the Cathedral. While this certainly means I do a bit of singing, actually I spend most of my working hours sat in front of my computer working on admin and DTP of booklets for endless special services. One of the most interesting was a commemorative service 50 years after the great floods of 1953, which affected the East Coast of Britain and especially Essex prettly badly, though nothing like as badly as the Netherlands.

I spent 3 years at BSN from 1975 to 1978 leaving in the lower 6th I should of graduated in 1979.I must say I have many happy memories and find it hard to beleive it is now 25 years ago,its interesting to see a reunion taking place this year and all the familiar names its a shame its to far away to attend as I have lived in New Zealand for the last 15 years. After leaving I spent a year to try and figure out what I want to do and ended up training in electrical engineering,I had several jobs in the UK in the early eighties finally ending up with Brush Traction in Loughborough in 1986.They had a contract to manufacture 22 mainline electric locomotives for New Zealand Railways, which I worked on and also brought me to New Zealand to commission them in 1988.Initially I was based in Palmerston North for 18 months this is where I met my New Zealand born wife, and after we got married moved to Lower Hutt near Wellington.I have 2 daughters Laura who is 13 and Lisa who is 9,and am now working for the French engineering company Alstom in Lower Hutt.I enjoy my life here in New Zealand beautiful scenery and reasonable climate,in fact being english seems like a former life now.It would be nice to here from anyone who remembers me,and if you are in New Zealand get in touch I'd love to here from you.

Came across this sight by fluke when looking for another school I attended. What memories came flooding back: Joseph O'Neill, Barry Forrester (still supporting Man U, no doubt), Phil Hughes - but no Simon Duggan, Graham Etherington, Kevin Leggett. The 3 years between 75 and 78 were a very happy time for me at the school - highlights being the skiing trips to Maurach and Engelberg, and the field trips to Terschelling, Ahrweiler and Chamonix. After leaving unexpectedly in 1978 (I was very upset to go), I went back to Newcastle, where I did my A levels, then went to Bristol University to read physics. Afterwards had an abortive 6 months at the UK Atomic Energy Authority in Warrington before changing tack and doing chartered accountancy in London (didn't even go via lion taming). After qualifying in 1990 I moved into Investment Banking, first with CSFB, and now with UBS Warburg - based in London, but with a fair bit of travelling around the world. Got married in 95 to Susan and have one daughter, Elizabeth who has started school herself now, making me feel old. We now live in Saffron Walden in Essex. Those in the class of 79 may remember my brother Alec who now lives in New Zealand with his wife and 2 daughters (certainly Keith McKay, Peter Meadows and Anna Bolton will). I think Mark Shimmin has been in touch with him. I'll pass on any emails, if you like.

I must firstly apologise to anyone who has tried to get in touch over the last year or so. We changed our internet service over a year ago and I forgot to update my email address on this website - sorry. Thought it was about time I got my act together and did a quick update. Let's see if my brain can function correctly....we left Holland in 1986, parents and brother to Jakarta, me off to boarding school back in England. Parents and brother returned from Indonesia and we all settled in the wonderful (?) town of Oldham. Left school after A-levels, decided I was sick of school and knew best (nothing changes) and found a job (decision much regretted later). Worked for a variety of companies in a whole slew of positions; purchasing sports equipment being my specialty. Met my husband Neil and made the decision to get out of the rat race and out of England. We immigrated to Canada back in 1995 to bask in the beautiful scenery and the laid back, West Coast life style of British Columbia. We have lived on Vancouver Island for the past 7 years but due to the declining provincial economy, employment is hard to come by in my husbands' field, and we are in the midst of a move to Edmonton, Alberta. The fact that we have a 21 month old toddler (Jakob) and our second child is due in 2 weeks just makes it all the more exciting! Would love to hear news from any old friends. We will be available at this email address for the next little while until we move and then I will be in touch with our new details.

I left BSN in 1993, and should have been in class of 1997. I moved back to Italy and went to a public school, it was a refreshing change to be with all sorts of people, not just rich spoilt kids (sorry, but for the majority of people in my year, it was true) and I changed completely: quickly got involved in a Punk/Anarchist movement, started a Riotgrrl band, and found a guy that loves me! *sticks tongue out at all people who thought I was plump and ugly* I moved back to Holland in 1997 with Mario (my love!), and started working at Hewlett-Packard: European Customer Support Centre in Amsterdam, as an on-line software support agent for Italian customers, and became a tekkie freak, addicted to the Internet, also became Department Scheduler for a while (my organizational and accuracy skills were noticed!), now after 18 months, I left the company to do a bit of travelling: I hope to get to India to "find myself". I currently have multi-coloured dreadlocks and tatoos on most of my back! You wouldn't recognize me...

So after leaving Holland in 1997 I had an excellent spell in Bristol for 3 years studying Economics and Politics. Since graduating I've been living in London for the past 5 years and working in the City. My parents are enjoying life in Istanbul and I often find myself heading back for the weekends. My sister Ece is also living in London and working in the City. We're living together and having a fabulous time, though of course I occasionally find it very amusing to revert back to annoying little sister. Life is good but have been seeing far too little of my BSN buddies... let's get in touch!

I graduated from the University of Bristol in Economics & Politics in 1996 but decided that the student life needed to be prolonged. More study was definitely required and I went to the London School of Economics. With my MSc Economics completed but still feeling far too young for all the responsibilities of working life, I headed off to seek a city career in fund management. Fast forward 3 years and I'm now a Director of Fixed Interest at M&G Investment Management. Still enjoying life, travelling around and laughing at the funny things in life. Burcu, my younger sister (although people actually think she's the older one now!!), has grown up and just started working at JP Morgan Investment Management. Our parents are retired and well, enjoying Istanbul life and great weather. I keep in touch with Line Pedersen & Linda Horsfield, but would love to hear from other former BSNers.

[Class of 1995]
As it's been 4 years since my last entry and with several classmates from 1995 updating their progress recently, I thought it was time I did the same to mine. After 3 years at the University of London I went back to Holland where I got involved with airlines. Gained a bit of experience, took a break and did a little travel around South America before returning to London 3 years later in April 2001 to continue the aviation theme. Had an excellent time, travelled lots and enjoyed all that London has to offer. After 3 years, the crowds, congestion and daily commute got the better of me, so decided it was time for a career change and moved to Brussels in April 2004. Still playing with aeroplanes, but this time with Americans in the form of FedEx. Thoroughly enjoyed the job and had a great apartment in the centre of Brussels, so threw it all away by getting engaged to my girlfriend of 3 years. Moved to the US this past September before getting married a month later. Managed to round up quite a few exBSN'ers to partake in the event as well. Now living outside Washington DC in Annapolis, Maryland and thoroughly enjoying married life. Looking forward to settling down but neither my wife nor I have a very good track record of that, so we expect to be on the move again in a few years...

Although I'm a true member of the Class of 1999, I actually left the BSN in 2000 after being ill the year before. I'm not sure if I can claim to be the longest serving BSN student in history (but I'll have a go anyway), having spent 14 years there, rather than the usual 13 - I'll have to check with Mr. Weston! After leaving school I went to the University of Surrey in Guildford, and ended up graduating with a degree in economics in 2004. I then came back to Holland where I'm working in eBusiness strategy at Shell Global Solutions in Amsterdam. The work's great fun so far - not so sure about the daily commute though. I'm still in contact with lots of folks from the BSN, including quite a few people from back in the early days - I managed to meet up with Didi Omiyi in New York last summer! I've got a pretty good memory, so if you remember me then feel free to drop me a line!

For those of you, who don't remember me, I was the boy, who was always trying to gain the interest of one female student or another, (those names will remain quiet), but never got anywhere. Still in the middle of all that happened, I don't think, that I could have had a more interesting experience into the introduction of adolescence than at the BSN. We were all teens, and whatever happened, happens to us all, at one time or another. But I'am happy to say that being at the BSN has made me a better, and less 'gullible' person, than if I had never been there at all. I left the BSN at the end of the 1993-1994 schoolyear, and left to Oman, in the Middle East. I graduated from a US-UK (the American-British Academy) Highschool. Don't be fooled by the very 'posh' name. It's all a 'cover-up' We didn't have uniforms - surprised, happily, of course. After three wonderful years, I returned back from a city that contrary to popular belief, is actually filled with a lot of wonderful greenery, luscious trees and hedges, decorated with beautiful (they're real!)flowers, where beacons of Arab history, such as forts, the Koran, ships, coffee pots and clock towers, are the spectacle on each roundabout. Arriving in Holland, I enrolled in Webster University, Leiden, majoring in Marketing and Pyschology. I have just nine classes left to go, taking a maximum of three during each quarter. Being quite involved in the Student Council, wehere we organize a variety of events including charity, (volunteering) cultural (dinners, city tours), and the seasonal(dinners, celebrations) etc. has allowed me to broaden my horizons, and experience a greater amount of responsibility, than I thought imaginiable. Lastly, I would like to say, that realizing the possibilities of my potential as a person, have been formed due to my experiences, meeting people, and understanding them, and I can say without a doubt that it all started at the BSN. Thank you for that.

After leaving the BSN after my GCSE's I moved to Finland to pursue a career as a professional squash player. After 3 years and absolutely no funding for the sport in Finland I had to forget that dream and move on. I worked one year in Milan as a coach, and then joined the Finnish Paratroop School for a year in hell with the Finnish army. After that I went to Tampere University for two years, and studied Marketing and Psychology. Two year of brain-pounding got my restless soul moving again, and I joined a Scandinavian tour operator and moved to Fuerteventura for the winter. Since then I have worked in Italy, Madeira, Turkey, Cuba, and now I am the Area Manager for my company, Scandinavian Leisure Group, in Borneo, Kota Kinablu to be exact.

I left BSN in '83 after o levels so I guess that makes me class of '85, after getting a Business qualification I went onto Cardiff Uni to study accountancy. After working for British Steel and the Welsh National Opera I now work for the BBC. I am married to Sarah (a Doctor) and have two lovely children Nathan (8) and Alex (4). I would love to hear from any of my old classmates.

I'm living in Dallas, Texas, and working at a law firm. I plan to start law school at the University of Michigan this August. Around the same time, my parents will be moving back to California, after 16 years in the Netherlands. I enjoyed seeing many of you during the holidays over the past few years, but I probably won't be back as often after my parents move. Hope to see you on this side of the ocean sometime!

I was at BSN in 1983/84 in the 3rd yr I was known as the bad girl of the school and enjoyed my infamy greatly. I have since lived in Spain, Yorkshire ,London, Mexico and London again.I went to Sheffield University as a mature student (I left school at 16) as they mistakenly believed mature students to be hard working. For my sins I am now an international private banker for Coutts. I would like it to be clear that I remain the 'bad girl' I always was. It's just I have a mortgage to pay now!

I've only just discovered this website, how fantastic! Well, I had a great time at Cambridge (avoiding) studying Architecture. I 'survived' and left with no intention of ever becoming an architect...so I went to work in a large architects office in London after the degree and found real life architecture to be completely different - I quite enjoyed it! Lived in Southend and Swindon, juggling architecture with waitressing, an interesting combination and naturally found myself wanting to go back to it after a couple of years out. KIAD in Canterbury was exactly what I needed. It's been great studying architecture in an art & design college and having the freedom to use all the facilities here. I started getting into film-making at the very end of the course. And so I left, once again, with no intention of ever becoming an architect! I left with a distinction and a keener interest in film and motorbikes. Although, I have since failed my motorbike test by nearly crashing into the back of a car and left my architecture job "to do other things" like going to Sydney in Apr 02 with my boyfriend Paul. We'll be in Oz and SE Asia for a couple of years, so if anyone wants to meet up for a drink in that part of the world, do get in touch! I bumped into Joe Lovelock in a pub in Canterbury about a year ago, never to be seen again and have somehow lost touch with everybody else. I'd love to hear from Mercedes, Rachel, Janice, Linda and Louise again. Where are you guys? My brother, David, is currently in his final year of Creative Sound Engineering at Leeds, he's enjoying the clubs and the course too, but not the deadlines.

I joined the BSN in 2001 when I was 7 and left May 2007 when I was in year 8 to come to Ireland. I had a great time and made many friends while I was there. We had many happy days inside and outside in rain or sun. I hope that I will always keep in contact with my old friends as they mean a lot to me. The best thing about being a pupil at the BSN is meeting so many people from different countries. I know I wont necesarily be able to be in that kind of community again and treasured my time there.

Seeing as how my info is no woefully out of date I thought I had better provide an update! I finished my PhD at Oxford in November 2004 and have managed to land a postdoc job (geology) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. I'll be here for 2 years so if anyone wants to come play in the snow, please feel free! Keep bumping into BSN people in the most unlikely places, although haven't met anyone from the class of '95 for a while. Sister Penny is working as a teacher in Bristol, her plan is to qualify as an educational psychologist at some point.

Since September 2002 I have been back home in Holland doing some temporary work before leaving for South America in January 2003. Since leaving BSN I went to Art college and studied for a degree in Graphics. From there onto the top design agency on the south coast and then I opened my own practice. After the great crash of 1992 I moved into management in motor racing, looking after a Spanish driver and then managing a race team for Harrods in the International GT Series. Since then I have returned to my art consultancies dealing with multimedia and 3D animation and modelling and web sites. I am currently seeking a career shift to the games industry. My fiancee Helen and I have one child Chloe (1996) and another due in August.

After graduating, I lived in London for a couple of years before traveling for a year. Got married to my Australian husband in 2001 and bridesmaids included Andrea Garrett and my sister Naomi. After another few years renovating houses, lots of acting & singing, plenty of drinking & drinking and 7 years with a pharmaceutical market research company I was offered a transfer to our Australian offices. We were relocated to Sydney in August 2005 and are now coming to grips with constant 40C temp, too many bbqs and a lifestyle which revolves around surfing - it's a tough lifestyle but someone has to do it! (mind you it's a work hard play hard mentality!). In short it's wonderful and the move was definitely smart! My sister is a sales Rep for Bic and lives in Birmingham but is contactable through myself. Hope to hear from anyone I've lost contact with over the years.

Having lived in 5 countries in 13 years it has now turned full circle (or pear shaped depending on your point of view) and I am back in Holland working in ESTEC. Gillian and I have a second child Thomas born on my birthday last year, so now a matching pair with my daughter Sarah who is 7 any minute now. I have stylishly dyed my hair grey to make myself look older (!) and so that my ex-classmates won't feel so bad when we meet up. Yes, but at least I have hair! I am gobsmacked how much I like living back in Holland - just didn't appreciate it when I was growing up there I guess. Ah, the feel of a saddle between your legs. Or so I'm told. Sarah is at the BSN now...wow! Would love to hear from you!

I would enjoy being listed in your Old Student Associations site, if eligible. I left before taking O levels or A levels, but was at ESH/BSN for eight years with what would be the Class of 1985. I know all those people you have listed for '85 and remember them well; they would remember me too. My younger brother Paul ('88?) and sister Wanda ('91?) did the same eight-year "progression," too; but then we all moved over to the American School of The Hague to start high school. I went on to Yale, like my brother, and got a BA in history. Now in my fifth year teaching writing at Harvard (my title is "preceptor in expository writing," my subject George Orwell), and doing a lot of book reviews, essays and op-eds for US papers like the Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Nation, Salon, etc. Nothing for British papers or magazines, unfortunately, as I prefer reading them to their American counterparts! Am married to Joanne and live in Cambridge; if anyone from the old days is passing through Boston, please look me up.

Have just discovered the BSN web site - great memories have come rushing back to me although I have been frantically trying to remember names and faces - I knew those old British School Magazines would come in handy one day. I spent 4 great years at the school between 1976 and 1980 and yes I was that Pied Piper of Hamelin in the Speech Day performance of '79 (I'm sure it must have been character building but did I really have to look that stupid? Check out the '79 school magazine and see what I mean!). To update - I returned to the UK where we lived near Reading in Berkshire, went to school did O's and A's and then went on to Lancaster University to read French. Graduated in 1986, worked in a pub for a while cos I hadn't a clue what I wanted to do job-wise. There I met my husband and we married in 1988. Lived in Aldermaston for 11 years and worked for Elf Atochem UK Ltd, the chemicals and plastics branch of the French company Elf Aquitaine, in their corporate affairs division. I have two boys, Oliver who's 8 and Max who just turned 2 and we are currently living near Boulder in Colorado and, as the Americans say, I am now a "stay at home Mom". The tragic events of September 11th have unfortunately meant that we shall be returning to the UK early next year, back to Newbury to be exact. Anyway we have had a fantastic year here with great people and spectacular scenery, all in all a wonderful experience. Would love to hear from or hear news about Sheri Kahle, Nicola Clarke, Caroline Riley, Pilar Domingo, Helen Ashenden, Anthony Thory and anyone else who remembers me! Have spotted some names already listed which I recognise and will be in touch soon. Please email me, I'd love to hear from you.

I would have graduated from the BSN in 2001 but instead i left in 1997 to live in wonderful Godalming, Surrey. After college i went to Surrey University for a year and a half before dropping out due to severe lethargy and disinterest. After that i felt a bit lost so i got a Higher Diploma in Music Production to kill some time. As i write this it is August 2004 and i am designing websites with a friend, working part time in a bookshop and playing in the "third best band in guildford" (haha.) Why not kill two birds with one stone: our website is www.ailingpopes.co.uk and we built the site ourselves! Life is grand and that, hope you are all enjoying yourselves.

As I have finally got a toe into this settling down game, I thought it was about time I updated my entry. Managed to escape the dreich Aberdeen at the end of last year and mountain-hop to the other side of the Cairngorms and Aviemore - Scotland's premier ski resort (ha!). Scottish Natural Heritage needed someone to take on the controversial funicular project (funicular being built through ski area adjacent to lots of sites designated for their international flora and fauna, causing lots of uproar from everyone and their goldfish), and seeing as it combined my interests of skiing, climbing and conservation, I thought, why not? The funicular's now built and I got offered a job with the Cairngorms Partnership, the forerunner to the impending Cairngorms National Park Authority and now spend most of my time designing interpretation. Here to stay, at least until global warming puts a final stopper on Scottish skiing and after years of living in draughty estate cottages, bothies and the like, I have bought a house in Aviemore. Unfortunately, those living in Aviemore are commonly referred to as Aviemorons. Still in contact with Sonja who has also escaped her job and headed to Basel to teach there, where bizarrely, she works with my P6 teacher, Miss Parker. Would love to hear from anyone else who knew me, especially if they fancy a quick jaunt up to Aviemore to sample skiing on heather.

I am now working for Auckland City as a town planner. I was still playing Rugby up until last season and am currently contemplating starting up again however, the local rugby scene in NZ looks pretty serious for my old body. On our travels we stayed with Mike Cope in Melbourne, he seems to be pretty settled into married life. Jane White (now Canaway)
[Class of 1979]
My name is Jane Canaway, but I was Jane White at school - from 1975-1979. Graduated in 1979 after the mad rush to move into the new school in time to take our A levels. Always been my excuse for dismal results. Took a year out and went to Israel, kibbutzing and visiting old flame from the American school and Anglo-US school band, Yzhar Ashdot. Funnily enough I got back into contact again with Yzhar this year - he's mega star in Israel now. Then studied International Politics and Strategic Studies at Aberystwyth University (with Sarah Holmes) but spent more time swimming and surfing. Got a job on a local newspaper when went to "home" town in uk, Guildford, and never looked back. Was up in Fleet St when broke up with long-term boyfriend in '86 and decided a spot of travel would help. Met an Aussie on an Indian beach in my first week of travel, met up with him again in Australia so we headed off around Oz on motorbikes - and we now have two kids and married 11 years. Still working as journo - back on local rags after 8 years on magazines. Still see Bindu Rao (now Narula) regularly although she's moving to Sydney this week. Rod Bolton's in Adelaide and calls in when in Melbourne. Anna Bolton married Dean in San Diego last year and seems happier than ever. Went to Louise Gibney's wedding four years ago and met up with Pam Senior, too. My parents now back in UK but come out here regularly. Gizza call if you need a bed for the night, anyone passing through Melbourne.

After completing A-levels at the BSN I returned to UK and went to Manchester to do my Foundation in Art & Design. There I remained in contact with Caroline Harris, Cathryn McPhee and Paul McCarthy as they were in the same Uni - I have since managed to loose contact with all of these people. I graduated with a degree in Communication Media and about a year after went to Australia to 'find myself' - or was it to find a tan - or was it for a beer - I cant remember? It is here that I got back in contact with Sean Jungwirth and we remain in contact today. I returned from Australia and landed a job in design and have since moved into a large software corporation as their European Graphic Designer based here in the UK. Anyone know what ever happened to Emma Yorke, Caroline Harris, Claire Livingstone, Andy Phillip, Erdem etc?

If any of you remember me, my name's Hanna Wikstrom, and I went to BSN between 94 and 97. I was in Ms. Wright's class in year 4 (i think it was year 4 anyway!), then in Mr. Thorndycroft's class, followed by Mrs. Carrier's class and finally Mr. Embleton- 7NE as Meggan reminded me!:-) After BSN I moved to Munich, Germany, and went to Munich International School, and then I did my IB Diploma in Cambridge, England. Now I'm studying German and English literature at Warwick University. I had a great time at BSN, and met a ton of cool friends, most of whom, I unfortunately haven't kept in contact with. Left BSN in 1983 and headed for Sussex University to study Biology and leave with a degree 3 years later. Having decided halfway through the 2nd year that the lab was not for me, went on to do an MBA for which I graduated in 1987. Worked in biotech and pharmaceutical companies (marketing) for nearly 4 years then decided to reach out on my own and start free-lancing as marketeer and translator. Now, more than 7 years on I am still self-employed but considering a major change of career (AGAIN??!!!) next year when my youngest goes to daycare. Have been quite a busy girl since I left the BSN and I don't mean just work - married husband TON after whirlwind courtship in 1994 and have FOUR sons!! (Josh aged 5, Jordi aged 4, Quincy aged 2.3 and Memphis at 8 months). I feel I have made a solid contribution to the Netherlands' male population and am now going to reclaim some time for myself. I have always worked but from home so I've really had the best of both worlds but its now time for a change. Hope to see some of you at the reunion!

I just looked at the BSN web page and it brought back some great memories! I did go the 1998 Reunion in London and did hand in a page of information but perhaps it got lost! Anyway, I would have been in the 1986 Class. I then went to Sussex University after which I spent four years living in Paris. I now live in Wimbledon and work for Columbia TriStar International Television in the Marketing Department. I got married last year (April 18th so one year anniversary coming up!) to long-standing French/Italian boyfriend, William Binella. He spends much of his time working in Paris so lots of commuting going on at the moment which hopefully will be shortly resolved! Last year was the BSN wedding year - Megan Leed, Robert Glendinning, Helene Borgman, Lara Woode - it was amazing!

I left the BSN in 1976 after doing "A" levels and attending the school for 3 years. I returned to Canada (Kingston), completed B.Sc. and M.Sc. (maths and engineering) degrees in '80 and '82, joined Bell Northern Research (Ottawa) and was managing a telecom performance research group when I started a Ph.D in engineering at the University of Toronto in '90. I got married in '96 and took several months off to volunteer with my husband at a remote school in southern Africa (Lesotho). I am now living rurally near Kingston. Any more ex-classmates out there?

[Class of 1998]
A feeling of disbelief came over all of us, on hearing that Adam Woodward passed away in hospital on October 21st. after fighting cancer. Adam will always be remembered as that happy smiling student who brought so much to those who knew him. His cheeful disposition seen so recently whilst revisiting BSN will be a treasured memory for those who knew him well. We now grieve with all of Adam's family that such a young life was ended so soon.

Having left the BSN in 95 I, like many other BSNers, found myself at Warwick University. After three years I graduated with a BSc in Virology and, after a brief summer enjoying the delights of Vlietland, took the only sensible course of action for someone with my qualifications...began to train as a Chartered Accountant. I have been in London now for 18 months and only have one set of exams left to do with Ernst & Young. I am now living in a flat that I have bought with my fiance, Gina. Look forward to hearing from anyone and everyone.

I graduated from BSN in 1980 and went to the UK to study materials science at Sussex University in the school of chemistry - thanks to Mr Davies! I left Sussex in 1983 and it was the middle of the depression and ended up building part of Sainsbury's in Brighton followed by several other casual jobs. Finally I joined Marks and Spencer and worked around a number of the stores in Southern England. I found the engineering side quite interesting - plant, refridgeration, security, fire, bomb and security systems etc. However after a couple of years I realised it was not for me. I then joined a small company on the south coast of England who specialized in the design and development of internal combustion engines - a Company called Ricardo Consulting Engineers. I got to play with gasoline and diesel engines -all day and get paid for it! It was like being paid to play. I circulated around in the fields if Diesel Research, design, development, program management working for many companies who make the vehicles everyone drives. I have travelled all over the world for the company consulting in the fields of cost reduction, performance improvement, emissions reduction, manufacturing technology and recycleability. A great part of the enjoyment is to know I have had a very "green" job contributing to millions of tons worth of reductions in CO2, CO and NOx emission Six years ago the company asked if I would like to move to the US as we were investing in an office in Michigan (Detroit). Although it is always a hard decision, particularly for the family, my wife and I agreed to give it a go fo a few years and we have been living in Ann Arbor, MI since. The company has grown from an initial 60 to 400 people in 6 years. I work as the Vice President and cover the two offices in Detroit and one in Chicago. My wife (Tamsin)thoroughly enjoys life here in the USA. We have travelled extensively throughout The States and plan on doing even more as time permits. I still get to the UK a few times a year and even returned to Holland last year with Tamsin for a look round the old country. Without realizing it I think one of the best aspects of BSN was the international element. The fun we had at school travelling throughout Europe was great and obviously gave me a taste to continue in my proffessional life. There is anumber of us who stay in touch from time to time that graduated around the same time. I will forward the site address to them to get in touch. There was Mike Simms - now in Singapore, Harald Pederson - selling Steel around the world- came to visit us in Detroit last year, Ian Appleyard - working in Yorkshire, Tony Clarke - teaching in the South of England Hopefully a few of the others will get in touch soon.

The joys of living in London has come to end. After graduating from LSE, I trained to become a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and stayed with them for 6 enjoyable years before deciding to move on. I've now been in Hong Kong for almost a year, and really enjoying the excitement of living in the Far East. Life is so different here. If any of my dear BSN friends are passing by, do drop me a line. I've lost touch with so many of you!

I cant believe that its been over 15 years since I last read some of the names on the OSA list! I attended BSN from 1984 to 1986 (to my recollection), then moved back to Korea for 3 years. Subsequently, I attended the American School In El Salvador (this was during the civil war, yikes!), and then moved on to the US, where I got my degree in Economics at the University of Texas at Austin. Immediately after graduation I was dragged back to Korea for my mandatory military service where I was recently discharged as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force after serving 40 months... yes, thats 3 years and 4 months... at the Ministry of National Defense. Talk about opportunity cost. I worked as an investment banker at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson Seoul office for a brief period, but got shuffled in the internet-craze that is hitting not just the US but Asia as well. I am currently working at an internet startup as a senior manager in ecommerce. I would love to find out what some of my ol' classmates are upto these days... Drop me an email when you guys have time.

After leaving BSN in 1994, I finally passed my A'Levels in Oxford, and then graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in English Literature and Egyptology. I moved home for a brief spell to work in Glasgow, but soon discovered that working 9-5 just wasn't for me. As soon as I'd got some money together I fled to Barcelona where I did a TEFL and taught English for a year. Having caught the travel bug, I've just returned from 6 months in Cairo, having taught and travelled in Egypt whilst trying to make sense of my degree. In January 2001, I'm off to Caracas (Venezuela for those as bad at geography as I was!)to try and improve my Spanish and see more of the world. At last, I am back in contact with Anne Nikitin and Naina Madan and would love to hear from DIANA SENIOR - where are you??? - or anyone else.

I went to the BSN in the Sixth Form only and left in 1989. I have some fond memories of my time there, particularly of 'washing that man right out of my hair!' After leaving I went to Leeds University to study English and then went abroad to Greece for three years to Teach English as a Foreign Language. I came back in 1995 and after taking some time to adjust to the lack of olives and sun took up a job as a 'communication consultant' for a small company in Marlowe. Hating life 'in the fast lane', decided to return to University to do a PGCE at Westminster College in Oxford and am now teaching Secondary English and Drama and absolutely loving it; particularly the opportunity to direct school productions. I would love to hear from absolutely anyone who knows me.
